Basic Definition: An application to store, manage, review, version and publish the data. In some CMS, data may be stored in database and some may store in flat file systems or even repositories like GitHub. Some CMS expose API / REST end-points in order to be consumed by various devices and channels, thus, are sometimes referred to as Headless CMS.
