If your formulas are displaying as formula text instead of the formula results
try:

1.) Press these two keys together: Ctrl and ~   (2nd key is the TILDE).
    This toggles all entries on a sheet between results and formula text and
    vice versa.
    
2.) Select the range where formulas are displaying as text and change the
    Number Formatting from TEXT to GENERAL. Now re-enter the the formulas.
